FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Puntos Seguros are safe places managed by organizations, municipalities or organizers of large-scale events. People can go to them when they need assistance, feel under pressure, have been the victim of an assault, need to report an incident or want guidance. At these locations, they can receive help and be connected with specialized services, emergency services and relevant municipal professionals.
The Puntos Seguros App provides access to a platform focused on public safety, protection and information. Among other features, the App lets users locate Puntos Seguros where they can go if they need assistance. Once the free Puntos Seguros App has been downloaded from the respective store: Users can: - Locate safe points marked on the platform near them. - Create groups with their contacts where, in addition to chatting, they can choose to share their real-time location in each group and mark and share points of interest. - Benefit from protection , if they wish, through an extra security layer that allows us to share data with the police and other security services when requested if a user becomes disoriented or goes missing. This information can be crucial during the initial stages of an investigation. Create return home groups. - In an emergency Contact members of their groups. Certain users, depending on the policies established by each group manager, may scan the QR access code for organization groups in order to use advanced features. QR codes are controlled by the owners of each Puntos Seguros group. Scanning them, where access is restricted to designated groups, from the Puntos Seguros, Puntos Violeta or EngrApp App provides access to all the safety information shared in those groups, primarily by municipalities or other organizations. In this way, these users can: - Locate all safe points in the group , regardless of how far away they are. - Access each group's chat through which they can receive official safety communications. - Locate in real time , mobile security personnel whom they can contact or with whom they can share their location if necessary. - Access all resources that the municipality or organization owning the group makes available for women’s safety. For entities: It is a tool to increase the safety of attendees at events, acts, or mass facilities where information and safe places can be shared, from fixed security points to, in large spaces, the real-time location of security agents, with whom women can chat and share their location if necessary. The Puntos Seguros App allows women to access, free of charge, all the resources available to them aimed at their safety. For municipalities: It is a tool for each city council, through the corresponding councils, to share in an interactive map, in real-time, and securely with its neighbors and visitors all the information they consider to increase women's safety. In addition to the reasons explained in the previous section (entities), the use of the Puntos Seguros Groups App, by the City Council or security devices, allows women to have located on their phones, anonymously and immediately, the information related to information, services, and even the security device that each city council or entity responsible for an event wants to make visible to the group members and allows them, in addition, to access information shared via chat, thus increasing the safety of the members and the management capacity of the device. The Puntos Seguros App allows women to access, free of charge, and anonymously all the resources available in the municipality aimed at their safety, regardless of the entity, public or private, that generates the resource (provided it is authorized by the council). It allows access to all information on a single platform.
As end users, and as recipients of the information shared within these groups, the Puntos Seguros App is intended for anyone—especially women—attending crowded public spaces or events organized by private entities, whether they are residents or occasional visitors to a municipality, who wish to have information on safe locations and security resources available on their phone.

As a Municipality, or as the security manager of a mass event or an organization managing large numbers of people, the Puntos Seguros Groups platform is a tool for sharing geolocated information and chat messages with people who join the group, with particular attention to groups that may feel more vulnerable, such as women or young people.

The municipal departments for Equality, Family Services, Social Welfare, Security, Emergencies, Culture, Events and Tourism—generally, departments related to safety and citizen participation—are those most likely to benefit from implementing the Puntos Seguros App. The platform provides an effective and secure communication channel designed to protect and support people who may be more exposed to risk, with particular attention to women.

Regarding mass events organized by private entities —event companies, shopping centers, theme parks, resorts, associations, foundations, etc.—the person responsible for security can particularly benefit from setting up a Puntos Seguros Group from which useful, up-to-date information can be shared, thereby strengthening the safety of attendees and visitors.

For more information: puntosseguros@puntosseguros.com
To access any of these groups, the event organizer or municipality must first have created the relevant group through the appropriate municipal department or security manager. If you are responsible for an interested municipal area and would like more information about the procedure, write to us at: puntosseguros@puntosseguros.com.

Once a municipality has its Puntos Seguros group, the first step to view the shared information is to download the free Puntos Seguros App, available for Android or iOS, and scan the access QR code from within the App.

The only way to access a Puntos Seguros group is to scan that group’s specific QR code from the App. The code is made available by those responsible for security. Municipal offices, Civil Protection, Municipal Police and other entities such as health centers, schools or information points are examples of places where the code can be scanned for people wishing to join, with particular attention to women and others seeking greater protection in public spaces.

The QR code may only be scanned from the Puntos Seguros, Puntos Violeta or EngrApp App. It may not be copied, sent or distributed by any other means, and access is reserved exclusively for people who request it in person, prioritizing the safety of vulnerable groups.
No, both downloading the Puntos Seguros App and scanning the group's QR code are completely free for users.
The privacy policies can be found at this link of Terms and Conditions. In summary, the application anonymizes user data so that the information cannot be linked to a specific user.
Each Puntos Seguros Group displays the information that the municipality or organization owning the group chooses to share. Members can interact according to the rules configured for that group, which may vary from one group to another. Depending on the municipality, organization, circumstances and timing, the person responsible for the security operation may share all or part of the information described in this section:

On the interactive map, you can locate permanent Puntos Seguros, volunteers and coordinators authorized by the municipality or owning organization in real time. When you enable visibility (as an anonymous point), you can see other anonymous points belonging to people who have also enabled visibility. Your position is hidden by default, and sharing it on the map is voluntary. Any user can hide or become visible as often as they wish. Even when visibility is enabled, in Puntos Seguros groups that allow it, members remain completely anonymous and cannot contact one another because no personal information is shared—only the location of an anonymous point.

You can also locate events, talks and conferences organized by associations authorized by the municipality or the organization owning the group.

Through the chat, you can receive specific notifications from organizers, coordinate groups to return home together, and receive recommendations or notices about events organized by municipal departments or local associations.

The real-time interactive map, together with the chat, significantly increases the safety of group members.

Users can authorize, when registering or later, an option that can be extremely helpful in the event of disorientation or disappearance.

This voluntary authorization allows Sancus Media S.L. (the company that owns the platform) to link anonymous account data to the email address provided and supply it to law-enforcement authorities if requested, without the need for a court order. This enables a very rapid response and efficient tracking of movements reported by the device, which can be particularly useful in risk situations.

If a group member becomes disoriented or goes missing, the police and other security services may access the device’s location data if the authorization has been granted.

Users can create temporary groups with security personnel and choose to be visible only to those profiles, making it easier to locate them quickly if an incident occurs.

You can also access information shared by associations authorized by the municipality or owning organization, which may mark the location of their events on the map.

In short, you will have access to all the information that the municipality or organization considers relevant to improving the safety, protection and information available to group members, with particular attention to people who may feel more vulnerable in public or crowded environments.
Depending on how the Puntos Seguros group you joined is configured, you may be able to become visible as an anonymous point, or that option may not be available. This setting is determined by each municipality or organization owning the group and can be changed according to current needs. For example, a municipality may normally keep member visibility disabled but enable it during events such as a women’s marathon, a public gathering or local festivities when visibility may help increase the sense of support and safety.

In any case, remember that in groups where this feature is enabled, you must first share your own location before you can see other anonymous points (people sharing their position). In other words, you must enable your visibility on the map. You will see your own position with your profile image, while everyone else will see only an anonymous, non-contactable point, just as you see other visible members.

To become visible in the group, enable the corresponding option in the group settings, provided that the group managers have enabled this feature.

Whether or not you make yourself visible, you will always be able to see active security profiles and highlighted fixed safe points on the map and access the group chat.
The member list of Puntos Seguros public groups is not visible: members remain anonymous. To protect privacy and anonymity, public-group member lists are not displayed, although the members are there 😊. Only private groups, created between contacts, display the list of members.
For more information about using the platform and the Puntos Seguros group for your municipality or event, please contact the people responsible for that group. From an operational perspective, Puntos Seguros uses the EngrApp engine. More information about EngrApp is available at the following link EngrApp and in this other one the privacy policies
Don't worry, it's a background service notification, it's completely normal and occurs on some phones. Plus, it's very easy to remove following these simple steps.

The steps may vary depending on the phone, but they should be similar on all of them.

Regardless of whether a user becomes visible in the group or not, she will be seeing at all times the security profiles that are visible, as well as the highlighted fixed points and access to the chat.

- 1 Press on the settings of the phone (usually a gear in the top left corner).

- 2 Look for applications.

- 3 Look for and press on the Puntos Seguros App.

- 4 Within the Puntos Seguros information menu, look for privacy and enter notifications.

- 5 Look for and click on notification category.

- 6 Deactivate TSLOocationManager.

There may be phones that have shortcuts and you can access the application information in a different way, but in the end the process is very similar, from the application information access notifications and deactivate TSLocationManager.

- Here's another example of another type of phone with a different operating system, but the mechanics are the same: Deactivate TSLocationManager. In this case, you can access Puntos Seguros information by long pressing on the App icon.

- or this one

The application is designed to install with optimal settings. However, depending on the device and operating system, some settings may not be enabled by default, which can negatively affect App performance.

Don't worry — there is a solution 😊.

The main installation settings that may be affected are: - Geolocation - Notification - Battery - Non-removal of permissions - Geolocation For Puntos Seguros to work properly, the phone's geolocation must be enabled. Puntos Seguros must have permission to access location permanently and precise location activated, so we can share your location with your contacts even when you don't have Puntos Seguros open and for the extra layer of security to work correctly.
- Notification The previous question explains how to remove the permanent notification in more detail, but basically:
- Battery Puntos Seguros optimizes the phone's battery with minimal consumption. However, some phones restrict battery usage to applications running in the background, which affects behavior. By accessing the app information, you can allow the phone not to restrict battery usage if you haven't done so during installation.
- Non-removal of permissions Many operating systems restrict permissions to applications that are not used frequently, affecting the application's performance when it is reopened if it has been a long time (days) since the last time you used it, or affecting its operation in the background... We trust that this does not happen to you with Puntos Seguros, as it is an App that we hope you find useful in your day to day 😊. Anyway, we explain here how to optimize this too...
The additional security layer, known as ESL (Extra Security Layer), is a prominent feature of our platform that allows collaboration with the police when necessary. It is essential to understand that the platform anonymizes and completely dissociates user data, ensuring that no personal information is shared. This process is carried out with the aim of guaranteeing the anonymity and security of our users.

However, by keeping this option activated in the privacy and security settings of the application, as shown in the image below:

It provides us with the possibility, upon police request and without the need for a court order, to de-anonymize the user's data and share with law enforcement the last GPS positions reported by the user's phone.

This measure significantly streamlines police procedures and response capability in cases of user disappearance or disorientation, especially in the initial critical moments of a search.

It is worth mentioning that this functionality has been very positively received by the consulted Law Enforcement Agencies, as it provides them with a fundamental tool and invaluable assistance in search processes.
If you are interested in contracting the platform to manage a Puntos Seguros group for your event or municipality, please write us an email at puntosseguros@puntosseguros.com, and for more information, please visit this link or you can write us in the form of this page.
The operation of Puntos Seguros groups is similar to that of any other group you may belong to on the platform, whether public or private among friends. By clicking on the "leave group" button on the group options screen, you will leave the group and will no longer be able to see the shared information. To rejoin the group, you will need to find another security member who will allow you to scan the group's QR code. Once you have left the Puntos Seguros group, if you have decided, you can continue using the rest of the public groups on the platform and the private groups with your contacts. If additionally you want to exit the App permanently, on the general profile screen, the logout option allows the user to exit the App permanently until you log in again.
